Thursday 6th February – Lunchtime truffle and wine-tasting with food at Domaine Montansier https://domainemontansier.fr/

Sunday 23rd – Visit to a rugby match, display of our cars and lunch at Riberac Rugby Club.

April

Friday 4th- Sunday 6th – This year we shall hold our AGM at Caviar de Neuvic Click here for details with a tour and tasting followed by lunch and then our AGM in the afternoon. For those that wish to do so, we shall then all go to a hotel in Périgueux for two nights and take in the Saturday morning market and the monthly meeting of the local classic car club on Sunday morning.

May

Tuesday 6th to Friday 9th or Saturday 10th – A three or four night road trip to the beautiful Auvergne countryside in the Massif Central. The scenery and driving will be some of the best in France. Warning – wine and cheese may be involved!!. Please below for more details of the itinerary, including hotels, visits planned and how to pre-register.

Wednesday 4th & Thursday 5th. Visit to Saumur Staying for two night in city centre of Saumur, with one or more of the following options to be arranged.

Saturday 14th – Brantômobile at Brantôme en Périgord – a static display of classic cars from all marques from before 1985 as well as special or exceptional other models. There will be a short picturesque rally around the beautiful local countryside. Lunch can be taken at the giant and copious ‘’picnic’’ in the large park by the river, with local food and wines provided or in one of the many restaurants in the town. This event is not organised by us, but our Vice-President Régis Di Giulio is our liaison with the organising committee in Brantôme. We participated last year and the day was a great success.

July

Friday 4th – Sunday 6th Le Mans Classic – Packages will be offered with accommodation, entry tickets to the circuit, stand tickets and free display of your Jaguar within the compound, effectively providing you with free on-site parking. Full details will be circulated as soon as available. Pre-registraton highly recommended – please e-mail John Sharp at [email protected] to register your interest. Places may be limited.

Date TBA – Visit/tasting/lunch at Citadelle Gin Distillery https://citadellegin.com/en/. A visit to the first craft gin distillery in the world gives a fascinating insight into something we all thought was so simple!

August

Date TBA – visit to Château de Varaignes and the weaving museum Chateau de Varaignes Sunday 24th – Annual charity barbecue at the home of Trev Miles in Douvesse 16120. A chance to meet up in a relaxed atmosphere and enjoy a summer barbecue together, whilst raising money for charity. Please make a note of the date in your diary. Local accommodaton is available, but is limited, so do your research early if you wish to stay overnight.

September

Friday 19th – Sunday 21st Angoulême ramparts weekend https://www.circuitdesremparts.com/ Saturday touristic rally and Sunday lunch, with a chance to watch the racing round this historic town.

October

Saturday 11th and Sunday 12th – A weekend based around St Emilion, Eymet, Montbazillac and Montbron organised by Régis Di Giulio with an overnight stay.

November

Date TBA – Visit to the Bassins des Lumières htps://www.bassins-lumieres.com/fr and lunch in Bordeaux. If you have never seen the extraordinary ‘’son et lumière ‘’ display in the historic wartme submarine base you have missed a real treat!

Details of the trip to the Auvergne from 6th to 9th or 10th May – accommodation booked for 9 couples

Tuesday 6th May we shall visit the beautiful red sandstone town of Collonges-la-Rouge on route, staying at the Hotel St Jacques htps://www.hotel-stjacques.com/ with a guided visit of the town and an evening meal together.

Wednesday 7th May we move on to visit the atmospheric Château du Val and then drive on to our hotel in Le Mont Dore, Le Grand Hotel Mont Dore https://www.hotel-mont-dore.com/en/home/ a comfortable spa hotel, where we shall spend two nights. There will be time to enjoy the facilities of the hotel and to explore the town, as well as organised visits, which will include some of the following:

1. The highest mountain in the Massif Central – Puy de Sancy with its Télépherique

1. The medieval Château de Murol and

2. The picturesque cheese-making village of Salers.

3. Other local gems may also feature, depending on time available. The itinerary has yet to be finalised but there will be free time for you to explore on your own if you wish and the chance to extend your visit for a further night (see below).

We depart from le Mont Dore on Friday 9th May and depending on demand, the trip may be extended for a fourth night at a suitable stopover on the way home.
