JECSOF\/A Report for October<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Our October outing was to Brantome en Perigord and a very special gourmet lunch at Le Jardin des Chouchoux. Brantome is situated in the north of the Dordogne and is a mix of medieval and renaissance
architecture and is noted as one of France’s \u201dPlus Beaux Detours\u201d
As our members came from a number of directions we met initially at 10.00 for coffee in Edon, before a 30 minute drive to Brantome. Special parking was arranged in front of the Benedictine Abbey where our Jaguars were parked up in manufacturing date order.

Our thanks to the Mayor and Police for their cooperation.
The Abbey was originally built in 769 and also features troglodyte caves. The town itself is a beautiful place to visit with the river Dronne going through the centre of the town. Well worth a visit if you are holidaying in the Charente or Dordogne. After a leisurely walk around town we all met up at the lovely Le Jardin des Chouchoux where proprietors Julien and Angelique and their staff gave us a warm welcome. Julien the chef had prepared a superb lunch of 4 courses. Our thanks to everyone who made us so welcome and to John Sharp our Treasurer for the organisation. Rapport de la JECSOF\/A octobre<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Notre sortie du mois d’octobre s’est d\u00e9roul\u00e9e \u00e0 Brant\u00f4me en P\u00e9rigord, avec un d\u00e9jeuner gastronomique tr\u00e8s sp\u00e9cial au Jardin des Chouchoux. Brant\u00f4me est situ\u00e9 dans le nord de la Dordogne et pr\u00e9sente un m\u00e9lange d’architecture m\u00e9di\u00e9vale et de renaissance. Il est consid\u00e9r\u00e9 comme l’un des “plus beaux d\u00e9tours” de France. Comme nos membres venaient de plusieurs directions, nous nous sommes d’abord retrouv\u00e9s \u00e0 10 heures pour un caf\u00e9 \u00e0 Edon, avant d’entamer un trajet de 30 minutes vers Brantome. Un parking sp\u00e9cial a \u00e9t\u00e9 organis\u00e9 devant l’Abbaye b\u00e9n\u00e9dictine o\u00f9 nos Jaguars ont \u00e9t\u00e9 gar\u00e9es dans l’ordre de leur date de fabrication.<\/em>

Nous remercions le maire et la police pour leur coop\u00e9ration. L’abbaye a \u00e9t\u00e9 construite en 769 et abrite des grottes troglodytiques. La ville elle-m\u00eame est un endroit magnifique \u00e0 visiter, avec la rivi\u00e8re Dronne qui traverse le centre de la ville. Une visite s’impose si vous passez vos vacances en Charente ou en Dordogne. Apr\u00e8s une promenade tranquille dans la ville, nous nous sommes tous retrouv\u00e9s au charmant Jardin des Chouchoux, o\u00f9 les propri\u00e9taires Julien et Ang\u00e9lique et leur personnel nous ont chaleureusement accueillis. Julien, le chef, avait pr\u00e9par\u00e9 un superbe d\u00e9jeuner compos\u00e9 de 4 plats.
