JECSOF\/A Report for September<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Classic racing at the Angouleme Remparts took place over the weekend 16th \/ 17th September. As always, we parked our cars in town where a space had been allocated to us on the pedestrian precinct outside the Galleries Lafayette.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

We wish to thank Claude Cherloneix for the organisation parking which went smoothly. We had 16 Jaguars on show and one Bristol (?). If any cars were lacking shine we place the blame on the drought here and where washing cars could be an offence.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

As usual the town was filled with many other classic car clubs so there was much to see before the classic racing. But first, the reason most of us were there, lunch. As we did last year we met at the Lion Rouge where we enjoyed our meal when it eventually arrived. Apologies to Mike Horlor and others who ordered the lasagne which appeared to be a French version of baked alaska. The kitchen heated things up but this was another reason for the over long lunch.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

As always the afternoons racing was exciting as was the freedom to roam the pits to look at the varied selection of old vehicles. Can we encourage you to check out the Angouleme Remparts on YouTube to get a flavour of the day. The last race was cut short due to a short but heavy downpour and with 1920s vehicles lacking ABS, traction control, etc. and with narrow tyres this was probably for the best. Not to mention the cost of some of these vehicles.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Next month it’s off to the beautiful town of Brant\u00f4me en P\u00e9rigord.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Rapport de la JECSOF\/A septembre<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

La course Classic des Remparts d’Angoul\u00eame s’est d\u00e9roul\u00e9e le week-end du 16\/17 septembre. Comme toujours, nous avons gar\u00e9 nos voitures en ville o\u00f9 un emplacement nous avait \u00e9t\u00e9 attribu\u00e9 sur la zone pi\u00e9tonne \u00e0 l’ext\u00e9rieur des Galeries Lafayette . Nous tenons \u00e0 remercier Claude Cherloneix pour l’organisation du parking qui s’est d\u00e9roul\u00e9 sans probl\u00e8me.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n


Nous avions 16 Jaguars expos\u00e9es et une Bristol ( ?). Si certaines voitures manquaient d’\u00e9clat, nous le reprochons \u00e0 la s\u00e9cheresse qui s\u00e9vit ici o\u00f9 le lavage des voitures pourrait \u00eatre un d\u00e9lit. Comme d’habitude, la ville \u00e9tait remplie de nombreux autres clubs de voitures classiques, donc beaucoup de choses \u00e0 voir avant les courses classiques.

Mais d’abord, la raison pour laquelle la plupart d’entre nous \u00e9taient l\u00e0, le d\u00e9jeuner. Comme l’ann\u00e9e derni\u00e8re, nous nous sommes retrouv\u00e9s au Lion Rouge o\u00f9 nous avons appr\u00e9ci\u00e9 notre repas lorsqu’il est arriv\u00e9. Toutes nos excuses \u00e0 Mike Horlor et aux autres qui ont command\u00e9 des lasagnes qui semblaient \u00eatre une version fran\u00e7aise de l’alaska cuit (Baked Alaska).\u00a0 La cuisine a bien chauff\u00e9, mais c’est une autre raison pour laquelle le d\u00e9jeuner a dur\u00e9 plus longtemps que pr\u00e9vu. Comme toujours, les courses de l’apr\u00e8s-midi ont \u00e9t\u00e9 passionnantes, tout comme la libert\u00e9 de se promener dans les stands pour regarder la s\u00e9lection vari\u00e9e de v\u00e9hicules anciens.<\/em>

Nous vous encourageons \u00e0 regarder les Remparts d’Angoul\u00eame sur YouTube pour avoir un aper\u00e7u de la journ\u00e9e. La derni\u00e8re course a \u00e9t\u00e9 \u00e9court\u00e9e en raison d’une averse br\u00e8ve mais violente et, avec les v\u00e9hicules des ann\u00e9es 1920 d\u00e9pourvus d’ABS, d’antipatinage, etc. et de pneus \u00e9troits, c’\u00e9tait sans doute mieux ainsi. Sans parler du co\u00fbt de certains de ces v\u00e9hicules.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n


Le mois prochain, nous nous rendrons dans la magnifique ville de Brant\u00f4me en P\u00e9rigord.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n
