Down here in the (very) sunny Charente region of France, some 40 Jaguar enthusiasts met at a local winery.\u00a0 There were around 20 cars, being a mixture of Jags from two beautiful XK120s and an XK140 up to the very modern, together with a few interlopers including a Mercedes Pagoda and a Mustang from across the Pond.\u00a0 We enjoyed a wonderful tasting of a variety of Charente wines made by Fran\u00e7ois Jobit, the quality of which has rocketed over the last 20 years.\u00a0\u00a0

Once our appetite had been whetted, we adjourned to Le Gueuleton restaurant at Segonzac, run by a good friend of our Club, Cedric Rangier, for a marvellous gourmet meal with plenty of liquid refreshment, rounded off by a fine Cognac.\u00a0 It was all very convivial with a mixture of French, British and Irish participants and we cannot wait to do it all again!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Ici, dans la r\u00e9gion (tr\u00e8s) ensoleill\u00e9e de la Charente, une quarantaine d’amateurs de Jaguar se sont r\u00e9unis dans un vignoble local. Il y avait environ 20 voitures, un m\u00e9lange de Jags allant de deux magnifiques XK120 et d’un XK140 jusqu’\u00e0 la plus moderne, ainsi que quelques intrus dont une Mercedes Pagoda et une Mustang d’outre-Atlantique. Nous avons eu droit \u00e0 une merveilleuse d\u00e9gustation d’une vari\u00e9t\u00e9 de vins charentais \u00e9labor\u00e9s par Fran\u00e7ois Jobit, dont la qualit\u00e9 a explos\u00e9 au cours des 20 derni\u00e8res ann\u00e9es.

Une fois notre app\u00e9tit aiguis\u00e9, nous nous sommes rendus au restaurant Le Gueuleton \u00e0 Segonzac, tenu par un bon ami de notre Club, C\u00e9dric Rangier, pour un merveilleux repas gastronomique accompagn\u00e9 de nombreux rafra\u00eechissements, le tout arros\u00e9 d’un bon Cognac. Tout cela \u00e9tait tr\u00e8s convivial avec un m\u00e9lange de participants fran\u00e7ais, britanniques et irlandais et nous avons h\u00e2te de recommencer !<\/em><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
