June saw 16 of us set off on a cruise down the coast of SW France in 8 cars. One classic Jag failed to make the starting grid, one member suffered from food-poisoning, there was a mix-up with a cote de boeuf, a nasty fall caused by a dog, a couple of near misses on the road, a couple of cases of Covid on our return and a couple of bad backs…otherwise it all went swimmingly! <\/p>\n\n\n\n

After a superb lunch at the local flying club some of us went flying over the Bay of Arcachon and the Dune du Pilat with the flying club, and the views were spectacular in the glorious sunshine. Those of us who had not booked flights went off to visit the Seaplane Museum in Biscarosse. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Wednesday greeted us with pouring rain but we made our way down to Saint-Jean-de-Luz. The town was delightful with its highly unusual church and lovely old buildings. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The next day we then carried on down the coast road through the magnificent coastal forests to San Sebastien where we all (well mostly!) hit the Tapas bars with a vengeance! Much Rioja was consumed and there was lots of laughter, which as we all know, is the best medicine. In the end everyone came home with some good memories.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

En juin, 16 d’entre nous sont partis en croisi\u00e8re le long de la c\u00f4te sud-ouest de la France dans 8 voitures. Une Jag classique n’a pas r\u00e9ussi \u00e0 se mettre sur la grille de d\u00e9part, un membre a souffert d’une intoxication alimentaire, il y a eu une confusion avec une c\u00f4te de b\u0153uf, une mauvaise chute caus\u00e9e par un chien, quelques accidents \u00e9vit\u00e9s de justesse sur la route, quelques cas de Covid au retour et quelques maux de dos\u2026 sinon tout s’est bien pass\u00e9 ! <\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Apr\u00e8s un superbe d\u00e9jeuner \u00e0 l’a\u00e9roclub local, certains d’entre nous sont all\u00e9s survoler le Bassin d’Arcachon et la Dune du Pilat avec l’a\u00e9roclub, et les vues \u00e9taient spectaculaires sous un soleil radieux. Ceux d’entre nous qui n’avaient pas r\u00e9serv\u00e9 de vols sont all\u00e9s visiter le mus\u00e9e de l’hydravion \u00e0 Biscarosse. <\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Mercredi, nous avons \u00e9t\u00e9 accueillis par une pluie battante, mais nous nous sommes rendus \u00e0 Saint-Jean-de-Luz. La ville est charmante avec son \u00e9glise tr\u00e8s particuli\u00e8re et ses vieux b\u00e2timents. <\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Le lendemain, nous avons poursuivi notre route le long de la c\u00f4te, \u00e0 travers les magnifiques for\u00eats c\u00f4ti\u00e8res, jusqu’\u00e0 San Sebastien, o\u00f9 nous avons tous (enfin la plupart !) fait le plein de bars \u00e0 tapas ! Nous avons consomm\u00e9 beaucoup de Rioja et nous avons beaucoup ri, ce qui, comme nous le savons tous, est le meilleur rem\u00e8de. Au final, chacun est rentr\u00e9 chez lui avec de bons souvenirs.<\/em><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
