After meeting on Saturday at the Cestas (33) service area, we headed for Labastide d’Armagnac via the small roads of the Landes for a guided tour of the town. Our guide told us about the history of the town with its royal square, its fortified church and its Landes race festivals. We then went to lunch at the Auberge des Chasseurs in Cr\u00e9on d’Armagnac. Our meal was generous and everyone enjoyed the local cuisine. Our journey continued to the town of St Sever where our guide was waiting for us to visit the walled town. The abbey church, a Unesco World Heritage Site, is an architectural gem, as is the cloister of the Jacobins. Then we headed for our hotel where we enjoyed a good dinner after leisurely ap\u00e9ros on the terrace. On Sunday morning, we met at 9am and headed for the town of Brassempouy for a visit to the prehistoric museum where our guide showed us “THE LADY OF BRASSEMPOUY” and the rudiments of life at the time, including the making of flint-based tools and the use of mushrooms to light a fire. Then we went to the Mouli\u00e9 Farm where we enjoyed a great meal. As the weekend came to an end, everyone took the road back home. It was a beautiful weekend with the sun shining, beautiful roads, a good atmosphere and no breakdowns.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Apr\u00e8s s’\u00eatre retrouv\u00e9s le samedi sur l’aire de service de Cestas (33), nous avons pris la direction de Labastide d’Armagnac par les petites routes des Landes pour une visite guid\u00e9e de la ville. Notre guide nous a racont\u00e9 l’histoire de la ville avec sa place royale, son \u00e9glise fortifi\u00e9e et ses f\u00eates landaises. Nous sommes ensuite all\u00e9s d\u00e9jeuner \u00e0 l’Auberge des Chasseurs \u00e0 Cr\u00e9on d’Armagnac. Notre repas \u00e9tait copieux et tout le monde a appr\u00e9ci\u00e9 la cuisine locale. Notre voyage s’est poursuivi jusqu’\u00e0 la ville de St Sever o\u00f9 notre guide nous attendait pour visiter la ville fortifi\u00e9e. Le site l’\u00e9glise abbatiale, class\u00e9e au patrimoine mondial de l’Unesco, est un joyau architectural, tout comme le clo\u00eetre des Jacobins. Nous nous sommes ensuite dirig\u00e9s vers notre h\u00f4tel o\u00f9 nous avons d\u00e9gust\u00e9 un bon d\u00eener apr\u00e8s des ap\u00e9ros sur la terrasse. Le dimanche matin, nous nous sommes retrouv\u00e9s \u00e0 9 heures pour nous rendre dans la ville de Brassempouy pour une visite du mus\u00e9e de la pr\u00e9histoire o\u00f9 notre guide nous a montr\u00e9 “LA DAME DE BRASSEMPOUY” et les rudiments de la vie de l’\u00e9poque, dont la fabrication d’outils en silex et l’utilisation de champignons pour allumer un feu. Ensuite, nous nous sommes rendus \u00e0 la Ferme Mouli\u00e9 o\u00f9 nous avons d\u00e9gust\u00e9 un excellent repas. A la fin du week-end, tout le monde a pris le chemin du retour. Ce fut un beau week-end avec du soleil, de belles routes, une bonne ambiance et aucune panne.<\/em><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
