CALENDAR OF EVENTS

APRIL 3rd: Riberac Rugby with Longeveau Classic Car Club. Lunch followed by first and second team matches. €20 per head, please book direct with Rick at rick@longeveau.com

APRIL 23rd: AGM at 17210 Merignac – light refreshments will be available (Pop)

APRIL 29-30th: Rouillac British Film Festival – details to follow (Chris) Link to details of the 2015 Festival.

MAY 1st: Bergerac Car Club Meet – details to follow (Mike)

MAY 28th: Circuit de Haute Saintonge – meet for lunch at the Bistro then those interested can try Go-Karting or watch the motorbikes on the main track. Please send a cheque for 20 euros a head for the lunch to Tim Sankey; meet up at the restaurant car park at 11:30.

JUNE 25th: Chalais Chateau – home of the young Talleyrand – lunch at Le Poirier, Bardenac followed by a tour of the Chateau. Please send a cheque for 25 euros a head for members and one guest, 30 euros for non-members to Tim Sankey before June 18th; meet at the restaurant car park at 11:30.

JULY 8-10th: Le Mans Classic – some members will be going, if you want to meet up contact Pop Rickard.

AUGUST 6th: Chateau de Plassac cognac distillery tour and tasting hosted by the owner, who happens to be a Jaguar enthusiast! This will be followed by lunch at Le Saint Genis restaurant. Please meet at the chateau for an 11:00 start. A map can be found here – click “Directions” and enter you start point for a detailed route map. Cost for the event is €25 each for a member and one guest, €30 for non-members. Please send a cheque (payable to JECSOFA) to Tim Sankey, Chez Audaire, 17210 Merignac by July 15th please.

AUGUST 20th: Visit the Chateau  les Milandes home of Josephine Baker –  a tour of the Chateau followed by lunch, birds of prey display, and free time to visit the gardens. Please send a cheque for 40 euros a head for members and one guest, 45 euros for non-members to Tim Sankey by July 15th please; meet at the chateau car park at 10:15.

AUGUST 28th: Charity BBQ – Chris and Anne Park are hosting a Charity Barbecue at their home near Chateauneuf-sur-Charente. As usual guests will be asked to bring their own meat for the barbecue, as well as some cheese and wine. Please bring your couverts so our hosts don’t have a pile of washing up! Places will be strictly limited, so please send an email to timsankey28@gmail.com by July 15th please and let me know the names of those attending. JECSOFA members will have priority.

SEPTEMBER 16-18th: Angouleme Ramparts we hope to have a block booking at a nearby hotel, and meet up for meals where possible – details here (Mike).

OCTOBER 15th: Brantome Police Horses – following a very enjoyable visit and excellent meal in 2014, we hope to meet old and new friends again this year – details to follow (Tim).

NOVEMBER 16-18th: Beaujolais Nouveau Run – celebrate the new wine with a run up to the Beaujolais region to enjoy the festivities, and maybe bring a case or two home – details to follow (Chris).
