Watermill visit on Tardoire 10 August 2022

This outing on the JECSOF/A calendar was to one of the only working mills on the river Tardoire near to the old town of Rochefoucauld.

A Group of 11 of us were shown around the mill and its grounds by Francoise Michenaud the owner, who together with her husband, have been renovating the mill over many years so it is now a functioning mill producing flours and oils.

Unfortunately, due to the current drought there was no water to see the water wheel in operation.

After the visit we returned to Rochefoucauld to have lunch at the Moulin du Chateau located again on the river Tadoire under the ramparts of the impressive Chateau de la Rochefoucauld. A superb long lunch in great company.
